Here is my first breadth collection photo. I wanted to express leading lines, depth of field, and texture all in one photo. I explored Balboa Park's Japanese Friendship Garden. I took many photos there and are going to use a few for my concentration theme. I shot this photo in RAW and brought down the whites and the highlights. I upped the exposure, contrast, and clarity just a little bit. And I also brought the blacks down just a little bit. The sky did not look blue in the picture before I edited it but after I edited it, I like it so much better.
Breadth 2
Here is my second breadth collection photo. I wanted to express contrast in my composition so I took this photo of different colored rings and darkened everything besides the rings. I enhanced the color of the rings so that they could stand out even more from all the blander colors of the photo. I had trouble trying to distract my audience from the $5 sign in the middle and I believe I have really achieved my goal in doing so. I took this photo at a Chinese New Year festival at Qualcomm Stadium and I even bought a ring from this booth (one that is not in this photo).
Breadth 3
Here is my third breadth collection photo. I wanted to represent close up, depth of field and also texture in the cheese, crust, and toppings of the pizza. I took this photo at Little Italy in a small little pizza shop called "Filippi's Pizza Grotto". I got a good angle on the pizza where you could see almost the entire thing. You were not able to see a majority of the toppings because of how much cheese was put onto the pizza, so I made sure to get a shot that focused on the ham and pineapple. I believe that the curves I put onto this photo gives the composition much more value and color.
Breadth 4
Here is my fourth breadth collection photo. I wanted to represent rule of thirds and contrast of color in my composition. The subject of my composition is the horse which is located on the left column of the rule of thirds. I believe the horse stands out from the rest of the photo, including the buildings and the rest of the people on the sidewalk. I took this photo in Disneyland's Main Street USA. It was difficult to get a photo of the horse while everyone was pushing me to keep moving forward. I had a split second of opportunity to take the photo which resulted to be one of my favorites.
Breadth 5
Here is my fifth breadth collection photo. I wanted to represent rule of thirds and contrast of color with this photo. The colors on Matterhorn Mountain reflected from the sunset happening outside of the photo really help the mountain pop out from the rest of the photo including the darkening clouds and the trees' many leaves. I put the photo into Adobe Photoshop to take out some of the unnecessary poles and lights showing in the composition. I took them out because they really distracted from the main subject of the photo which is of course, Matterhorn Mountain.
Breadth 6
Here is my sixth breadth collection photo. I wanted to represent rule of thirds in this composition using this ride at Disneyland called Astro Orbiter. I put the photo in Adobe Photoshop and made only the ride itself more saturated. I dimmed the sky to make it look more dull than the rest of the photo and then
Breadth 7
Here is my seventh breadth collection photo. I wanted to represent rule of thirds and contrast in this photo. Contrast between the rock that the castle is on and between the trees and the blue sky. The highest tower on the castle is on the vertical left hand-side rule of thirds line.
Breadth 8
Here is my eighth breadth collection photo. I wanted to represent framing and contrast in this composition. I framed my cousin's face in the mailbox near the Rain House in The New Children's Museum. There is very bright contrast between the red of his lollipop and the green wall behind him. I really like this photo mainly because of the face and expression he is making. He is representing silliness and creativity on his clear face. I put the photo in Adobe Photoshop to mask the people behind him out of the photo and turned up the saturation on the green wall and red lollipop.
